Performing HOT WORK
Tasks involving tools and equipment that generate sparks and heat can lead to fire. Hot work includes open flame, hot air, welding, cutting and grinding equipment.

- Ensure all flammable materials are removed or shielded before starting work.
- Only use equipment in good condition and that you are trained to use.
- Use anti-flame work clothes and necessary protective equipment. Protect skin and eyes from UV rays, sparks, and dust.
- Always protect your eyes from radiation, even when others are welding.
- Ensure good ventilation or fume extraction in the room to avoid toxic gas exposure.
- If hot work must be carried out outside approved zones, obtain permission and establish a fire watch.
- A certificate for hot work must be presented.
- Gas measurements must be carried out before work is initiated, where there is a risk of flammable gases.
